A friend once said I feel life is so empty tat there isn't any meaning for me to continue breathing... Can we choose to end our own lives?
The answer in my own understanding as a Christian is no. The Bible says, "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are," 1 Cor 3:16-17. "…For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people." 2 Cor 6:16
This means that if you hurt yourself or what so ever it is also affecting God's temple that dwells in you. So you can't choose to end your life.
If you read in Ecclesiastes it tells us that if you listen to what God's word is trying to tell ya about the Lord and his plan for you, you'll find life isn't meaningless at all.
Ecclesiastes said that If you could have every pleasure your heart desired, would you be happy?
If you had all the money in the world, what would you do with it? Ecclesiastes 5:8-20
Why is it important to think about God when you're young? Ecclesiastes 12:1-8
Thinking about the questions?
Guess I'll encourage you to read this chapter then.
If money is the most important thing in your life you'll be miserable. But if God's values are most important, and if his values shape the way you use your money, you'll be happy. You can't buy happiness. Pleasures are actually meaningless. It only gives you thrill at the moment and when you stop you're back to square one. Things on earth aren't always fair here on earth. But don't be discouraged. This life isn't the end and God promises you " an inheritance" quote by 1 Peter 1:4
Therefore allow God to come into your life. I'll guarantee you'll nvr regret it. It will be the best thing that will happen in your life.
Sorry I know some people might not like what I'm saying. Anyways I like to quote this finally as a end from the verse Ecclesiastes 8: 7-8 Since no man knows the future, who can tell him what is to come? No man has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the day of his death. As no one is discharged in time of war, so wickedness will not release those who practice it.
In conclusion,"....Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgement, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
